Overview

This session will provide you with information and guidance that will support your future research plans and enables you to better position yourselves for relevant employment. The event focuses on career pathways in Higher Education and will comprise of presentations that will include information on how the research councils operate (particularly the Arts and Humanities Research Council); how early career researchers are incorporated into periodic research assessments (i.e. the Research Excellence Framework); understanding the increasing importance of research ‘impact’; how to start publishing your research, and examples of art & design researchers who have successfully developed their career after their PhD.
